I can’t imagine what it would be like to have to send your child off to some other family you don’t even know to keep them safe from war! That is the focus of the historical part of this novel. I loved the stories within the story of Whisperwood which the girls used to escape the stress and fear of WWII. This one did feel to drag on a bit as the mystery of Flora Lee continued. I had to know what happened to her though.
