Poor script, clinched depiction of working class people who all too often become cannon fodder for those who wave the artistic license. Some of the acting is fantastic and with Van as it’s sound track there are some redeeming features. As someone who is Belfast born and bred (indeed with family who knew Branagh) I was disappointed with what was meant to be a love story to Belfast and felt more like an annihilation of the community he was brought up in.
