Utterly thrilling! One of my top ten favourite films. The beginning didn't do anything for me as I hate monkeys! The middle sequence was the best bit, the relationship between the Spaceman and Hal was intense conversing between them. It was as if Hal had had a human brain. The air hostess who picked up the pen floating around the passenger airship (looks like a plane) travelling to Mars(?) and the music, oh how it went with the cosmic space, fabulous! I felt that I was there, very three dimensional. Beautiful shots, beautiful colours and so iconic. Unfortunately the third sequence was a no no for me. Too psychedelic, didn't understand it. But all in all it was the most thrilling film as I saw it when it came out in 1968, one year before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon!
