Awesome movie. Loved it when i first watched it, still love it. Cannot believe the low scores on IMDB and RT. People have issues with the colonialism, white privilege, and racism depicted in the movie - those were realities for the era depicted, especially in the British Empire, shouldn't be a reason to rate the movie poorly. I'm sure some other aspects were exaggerated (Michael Douglas's character was invented for the script, the lions' hoard of bones was most certainly fictional). Overall, tells a good suspenseful story, with great cinematography and sound. Its not an all time great by any means, but it is an enjoyable movie.
