I would not say I'm "woke" in any sense of the word, and I'm white. But I do love the show and from a purely data driven standpoint, blacks are more likely to commit crimes, black detectives are more likely to be discriminated against and women in the police in Great Britain are constantly discriminated against by their male counterparts. I'm wondering if the 1 star reviewers who are simply attacking "woke" culture, have ever been to Great Britain. I have. It's different. Wake up! Yes I'm a white women who is empowered here in the US (I've testified before Congress 7 x and gotten a law passed to protect airline passengers). The negative reviews on this site for Criminal Record all appear to be privileged white men accusing us women of being too woke? We have had to fight for our right to vote, for our right to be paid equally and in Great Britain it's even worse in terms of discrimination. I love this show, it's well written and the acting is great. Stop using a comment platform to attack a show that's simply telling the truth.
