Got about half way through and had to turn it off. The trailer and premise was really enticing, honestly a great idea, but the execution was so off.
Everything felt rushed, every plot point, every observation by the characters. It rushes very quickly into the main story with little to no build up or any character development. This usually isn't an issue, but it honestly felt like we had accidentally skipped scenes throughout.
When the main character noticed shooting stars, without hesitation she magically knew they were satellites. We're roped into a narrative that she is a recovering (?) Drug addict, and her mother (?) Has custody of her kids (?), after a single day of not sleeping, police officers are shooting neurology doctors (I can only imagine that was this guys role, with his supposed knowledge of the human brain and the effects of sleep deprevation etc?)
When the power goes out, and the main character goes to the university where she works, she bumps into this male neurosurgeon character, we have no idea of their relationship, and he radically, without any story telling, talks about this huge sleepless epidemic. Then an army marshal comes in and starts having this bizarre dialogue with the main character, like she is ex military, but also her mother?
I don't know. The whole thing was just weird, off, skipped beats, and we didn't want to waste any more time finishing it.
