Firstly, Cynthia. I am so very sorry for the abuse (even that word does not feel adequate to describe what you endured) you suffered at the hands of the very people that where supposed to protect you. Even the grandmother failed you, a whole community failed you and the school well I only hope that god caught up with them all on the other side ! This was a truly hard book to read, I had to put it down at times it was so horrific. I hope you have finally found some peace in your life and wish you happiness and lots of genuine love.
