Authors spent a lot of time getting other details right and completely gave up on trying to figure out the legal system. Most cases take at least 12-18 months to go to trial and that was before Covid. My husband was killed in 2019 and trial didn’t start until 2022… It feels like the entire middle was just a place to dump hot topics and even though this entire book centers around a “murder” they end up letting the actual murderer off even after she lied not just to cops but under oath at the trial. It’s ridiculous.
