My initial thought after finishing YellowFace was “It’s the most accurate depiction of modern day society that I’ve ever witnessed in the 21st century” that’s what i texted my little sister after finishing the book… but after sitting with the story as whole for a while, & going down the rabbit hole I tend to fall into after watching movies / finishing books…my opinion has altered…so much so that I wish the word count was higher than it is so I could REALLY get into it…..lol… overall it’s entertaining & tells the story of the ebbs and flows of public narrative and modern day (digital) mob mentality, while also doubling down as a “ shadow work journal-esque” entry for the author.
