I know I'm in the minority here, but I never thought Edie Falco was right for this role. IMHO She just wasn't believable as a Chief of Police. I watched every episode because I wanted her to be good, but she just wasn't. But far worse than that was how quickly the show devolved from a Police Drama to a night time Soap Opera. Dear God, there was never any room for police work because the writers were fixated on bedroom issues, e.g., adultery, lesbian, and political sexual scandals. It was a mess.
