Luckily I didn't listen to the one star reviews. The movie isn't without problems (windshield wipers in space, electrocuting a xenomorph attached to someone's head), but overall it's a very good entry into the Alien franchise. The really annoying character was annoying, but there have been worse in the franchise. Hearing the sound effects carried over from the Alien was awesome. The practical effects were great. The one over the top fan service quote was a bit much.
