An ok adaptation but doesn't quite hit the mark. The modern attitudes, language and behaviours don't fit with comforably with the period drama. Basically, it tries to be Bridgerton-esque and fails. There's no real chemistry between Anne and Frederick which doesn't help. On the upside, my husband sat through it and laughed at some of the one-liners, which is a first for any Austern based film. Watched it to the end, although it dragged a bit. Do yourself a favour and watch the 1995 film - much better.
