Always liked this movie. I thought all the main actors did great. Enjoyed Paltrow's and Hedlund's singing performances.

This movie was great. The cast was excellent. Clarence Williams III ALWAYS brings ho is A game. Allen Payne's Tristan is wayyy smarter than Allen Payne's G-Money character. The checkmate ending was...👏🏿

*sigh* Movie never explains why there is a civil war. So lets start with that. And during the chaos, you got your typical kill or be killed lawlessness that I've seen in every similar anarchy or apocalyptic type movie. Unarmed photo journalists are driving through a civil war-torned country where everybody else IS armed. Acting as if their press badges and cameras are their bullet proof vests. Smh. Considering the armed crazies, I figured their road trip would come to an abrupt end at their first pit stop at the gas station. Surprise surprise, they survivived it. LOL. I guess you can't have the main characters die 30 mins into the movie, right? The movie was just ok. Anyway that's my basic takeaway.

Emma Thompson is truly one of those gifted actors who does not need props or other A list actors to make her look good. Her riveting performance evoked humor, sympathy, sadness from this viewer. She is such a great actor. Period.
