Rebel Moon is a patchwork of scenes cribbed from more memorable stories played out with too much earnestness in front of a visually arresting sci-fi backdrop. Dialogue has always been Snyder’s Achilles heel and this offering is further evidence of his reluctance to display a range of expression approaching humanity. Characters blurt out excerpts from grandiose speeches with alarming regularity.
I’d have given this one star but Snyder had the wisdom to involve a sad robot. I have a soft spot for sad robots. Thanks Mr. Snyder.
