In my humble opinion, I read the books multiple times. The movie did not live up to the book, not even close. It was choppy, and some important characters and development were completely lost and cut out. Danny’s personality and growth were not shown through the film whatsoever. Also, how could they go back to the Overlook when it burned down in the Shining?! Abra finished the movie the way Danny did in the first book The Shining. John Dalton was a major character in the book and his existence in the film was basically wasted. I think the film could have been much better had it been directed in a different way. Especially the ending, the ending of the film was completely disappointing and didn’t make sense.
