Just saw the movie last night and was pretty let down. Not only was this movie way too long (like literally was waiting for it to end for the last 20-30 min of the production) but the story line was all over the place. The story of them creating a team, thinking about the bomb and then the bomb getting made was really good, but then there were many other underlying twists and turns that didn’t make sense or they decided they didn’t want to follow through with that had me scratching my head as to why they ever emphasized these elements. (A few examples- who cares about the wife’s drinking problem, it never really came into play, the main guy cared a lot about the weird mistress but that was side lined, there’s another story about Robert Downey’s character that’s in the beginning and end but frankly was kind of boring so why have that, and then Einstein was showcased and personally would have loved to seen more with that character!) - Also, there are so many great actors in this movie that I felt everyone was vying for the spotlight, each wanting their own minute of fame for a chance at a Oscar… that in itself made things a little confusing!
A lot of great stuff in the movie but like everyone else in the theater, we all left with no smiles on our face and completely drained.
It’s too bad, the movie has so much potential to be great. Where are the good screen writers?
Oh and does anyone watch Entourage? Felt like I was watching Medellin.
