I have watched this programme since it started and used to feel it didn’t get recognised the way it should. Now the storyline takes second place to bed hoping and it is tedious and boring. Most female characters sleep around easily and this depiction takes the message of rape into the background as the characters are so easy come easy go with no emphasis on the dangers involved. Where are the children in all this, conveniently forgotten. When Emmerdale can tick a PC box it does it to death with trying to prove a point. It used to have humour and caring not this continuous bed hoping and nearly all the village are criminals at some point. It seems none of the writers can actually write something we care about and when stuck it’s “they can have an affair, change sexual preferences or do a crime. They were better than that.
