Mary and Max is one of those films that will leave you with a new perception of our world. This film tells the story of Mary, an eight-year-old girl living in Australia, and Max a 44-year-old man with Asperger Syndrome living in America. This film explores themes such as mental health, loneliness, and friendship. Both characters suffer from loneliness, isolation, and mental illness. Over 20 years the two write letters back and forth to each other explaining the events in their lives.
The animation and soundtrack in this movie are exceptional. The colors, animation, and music reflect the characters extremely well.
