Just doesn’t know what it is. Lead character, love interest, and physics were light years from believable. Physicist did not act like one, offering zero insight into how travel into the past is not at all prohibited by the math. Art direction desperately wanted to be Blade Runner (a detective story!), but that cannot help a plot going in 3 directions: No chemistry for a love story. Almost no comparisons for a parallel universe theory. Irrelevant mumbo jumbo for science. A good time travel story cannot dwell in the how, only the what, and how it affects emotions. Film was woefully bereft of emotion. Won’t waste my time getting into problems of logic — which are always abundant in time stories — but when the movie is believable, no one cares. People whining about the reviewer ‘lack of clarity’ complaints obviously worked on this film, because no impartial reviewers rescue a film with such zeal. I liked McTiernan films too, but he had a sense of storytelling. By the way, synchronicity with what? Angry I watched the first hour.
