Full disclosure, I was meh on Downton Abbey — the build up of suspense to a crisis that was constantly resolved by alarmingly prompt resolution (“I didn’t mean that”, or “I think you misinterpreted”) and relief was too much. The singing in the second season only added to the problems. I sincerely wanted to like it. This is far worse. Beautiful sets and costumes. Ok acting here and there. Poor plot, and worse acting among the main villains. Flat. Few dimensions. I just don’t care what happens. Again, I really wanted to like it and spent far too many episodes wishing.
