i had to write a review after seeing those 1 star comments; all left by a mixture of irresponsible parents ignoring an R rating, conservative holier than thou christians, damaged people who need to go to therapy, and people who must’ve never owned a dog. all dogs do is poop, hump things, and eat questionable things and i’ve seen so many people complaining about this being in the movie! it’s ridiculous how no one researches anything.
you’re supposed to hate the dog’s owner. he’s so insufferable it hurts and the whole movie is about getting revenge on him. in no way is this movie “teaching children how they should speak and act” or grooming them at all! because this movie literally was not made for them!! the only things that should be criticized are the parents that were ignorant and idiotic enough to take their children to see this movie. it’s raw and realistic, and it sends a good message. family isn’t always blood, the abused shouldn’t feel at fault and should not defend or normalize it, etc. also there are so many wholesome moments aside from all the mischievous chaos. i found myself saying “awww” at a lot of the scenes. if you’re down to earth, a/were a dog owner, don’t feel like the world is ending bc of f-bombs, think sex is normal, and have a good sense of humor then you will love this movie just like my partner and i did!
