Found it hard to believe any of it. What teacher calls a pupil the C word? New Zealand seems to have a very different way of schooling! Penny's character? She behaves in such a random, cavalier way that I couldn't empathise with her at all. Taking her grandchild, an affair with her friend's husband and by the way, why would he take such a huge risk, considering the circumstances? His wife's friend, his colleague and Penny is not exactly irresistible the way she presents herself! As someone else said, why has 'Tom' box never been looked at in 5 years or why hadn't he taken it when he moved out? Also why did she not see what was going on under her own roof with Phil and Tom? Quick enough to jump to conclusions when she saw him with Ollie. Very drawn out and then a very quick ending that was not entirely understandable. What took Tom so long to take action? None of it was plausible, plot holes as many as in the fish net she cuts up!

Black comedy? All a matter of taste and opinion of course. But I found nothing funny about someone committing suicide. Didn't waste my time watching this as I didn't laugh once during the first 20 mins.

The original book is so much better. The story unfolds in a better paced more believable way. Doesn't really work in this television version.

I was told I must watch this film, still trying to work out why!!

He is on fire and then shot twice, dead, must be. So are we to assume the black eyed version is a ghostly demon of some kind? What a load of tosh.

One of the most ridiculous and therefore annoying films I've seen, and I've seen a lot of films. Terrible acting by 'Ben' who has "no idea" about anything apparently. Terrible plot, I use the term loosely. I ended up with a headache.

The most annoying series I've ever watched. Maybe they could have reduced it down a few episodes if James Nesbitt actually did some policing rather than serenading and bedding the killer! Unbelievable, over convoluted plot, poorly drawn characters, terrible script and why did good actors waste their time and talent on this nonsense?

Lots of miscasting, lots of terrible acting, dubbing and even worse voiceovers, dragged on too long, apart from that it was...... terrible! Who thought this was fit to be released?

Any belief in this film is destroyed by the incredibly bad miming by Julianne Moore pretending to be an opera singer. Could this have not been done in a more convincing manner? Unfortunately this poor poryrayal is indicative of the whole film. It was poorly acted by the main protagonists, slow to unfold and looked like a film that had a small budget. I was so bored that I didn't stick it out to the end.
