For such a short story, this tale of love, lust, and loss packs quite a punch. It is concise yet deep. Though it only took me an hour to read, much of that time consisted of me taking my eyes off the page to stare at my wall and think over what I'd just read, then re-reading it again to relive the beauty of the prose. This was a great introduction to the full companion novel, Beatrysel, which I look forward to reading next.
