Really weak, cliche writing. Within one page the sister gets described as looking like a supermodel ("oh, a man wrote this? What a surprise") twice. The characters seem so stereotypical that they don't feel real in any way. The plot twist is okay (following in the ridiculousness of the rest of the story), but overall the story is too unrealistic for even suspension of disbelief. (Like, I'll take Dan Brown's Olympic swimmer professor who just always happens to save the day and find a female companion along the way who just happens to be a raving beauty over this nonsense.) I slogged through it for a book club, but i would've abandoned it within a chapter or two otherwise. I legitimately do not understand how it has so many 5 star ratings. Hard pass.
