The movie is mind blowing .it has a unique taste. First of all, the sweet love story ,constructed upon just letters, is smeared with more sweetness because of the imperfect English of both of the husband and the wife. Secondly, it presents the lifestyle of the people living in the remote Sundarbans and their many kind of sufferings, due to the the inaccessibility and undeveloped infrastructure even when it's modern era. The best way to communicate with outer people from here is only the postal system.it gives some kind of nostalgia. And it's a story of love which is Holly, filled with trust , belief and dedication to sustain it. And the last scene proves how deeply the wife was devoted to his husband's love . From Japan to Sundarbans, it's a very long distance you know! Without meeting Face to face, even not for the first time, they kept on their marriage life for over 15 years.
