As a longtime Borderlands fan and enthusiast, I've eagerly followed the series for years, playing all the games multiple times. Naturally, I was excited—thrilled, even—when I heard about the movie adaptation, despite not typically being a fan of films.
However, after watching it, I find myself deeply disappointed. If I were to rate this movie out of five stars, I wouldn't give it a single one. In fact, it’s so poorly executed that it doesn’t deserve any rating at all.
While I can appreciate Claptrap's humor and some of the CGI effects, the script itself is a major letdown. To whoever wrote it: you might want to reconsider your aspirations. The movie is chaotic, with too much happening all at once. I found it impossible to stay focused on any particular scene. The action sequences were overwhelming, and the pacing was so erratic that I couldn't keep track of what was happening.
This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review, but the experience was so frustrating that I felt it deserved my time and energy.
