This movie is such a waste of time. Long scenes that drag forever trying to build an ambiance that's as trite as the concept of moving a horror story into the daylight. OK, now what? If there was no music, this could be Sound of Music for like 70% of it. The score is doing a lot of heavy lifting because nothing else is. It's incredible to me that none of these reviews mention that the boyfriend is named Christian, and that the main character spends the whole movie basically leaving him for paganism. It's right there. And that's what this movie calls symbolism. Every character has one single trait and they never deviate. Dani is hurt. Christian is lost. Josh is studious. Mark is a dick. etc etc etc. It's so boring. Mark didn't have a single useful or nice moment in the entire movie. Why are they friends? Christian never found himself. Josh studied til he died. Mark was obnoxious til the end. Also why would they fight over PhD research topics? Who cares? People study stuff together and write theses together all the time. Christian wasn't going to do a good job, if he even finished. Josh has nothing to worry about.
