If you're into A24 films and love their style of things, you'll probably enjoy this. If you’ve seen other A24 films, keep in mind their methods and general aesthetic and how they stage their films. For me personally, I almost wouldn’t put it in the horror category. It’s more surrealist than anything. It’s a slowwwwww burn like The Witch. The tension was in the sound and lack there of and what little musical swells they used at times. Very subtle. But very very unsettling quietness similar to some parts in Hereditary. It presents tenseness very well. And just when you’re aching for more explanation, it’s over. it’s a super depressing drama/emotion film with a surrealistic twinge.
