A forgotten 80s masterpiece, this album is gorgeous and moody (Julia), sometimes terrifying (Ministry of Love, Room 101) and often darkly exuberant (Sexcrime, Doubleplusgood).

Probably the weirdest and maybe my favorite David Bowie album. Despite being a young kid when it was released, I instantly became obsessed. Jaw-dropping songs like Always Crashing in the Same Car, Weeping Wall, and A New Career in a New Town still achieve the same impact 45 years later.

Nothing compares to the original. But in the 50 years since I’ve seen very few horror films with as cohesive and surprising a storyline as this.
