I find Aaron Kwok's Sun-Wukong portrayal to be too low-key after Donnie Yen's manic outing in the original. Yen's monkey mannerisms were incredible! (Some would say annoying!) But, for me, he brought Sun-Wukong to life! I tried watching part 2, and was unable to make it to the halfway point. The quirky special effects in the first installment were actually pretty impressive, too. Unlike anything I've seen. Sadly, the movie version of this story ends with our hero cast into a mountain for 500 years!
