GxK is one of the best crowd pleasers I have seen in a long time. The comparisons to Minus One need to stop, it is obvious that the directors had different takes on the source material, and that is totally ok. Honestly, if anything surprises me about this new monsterverse movie it is how well it continues the world building and how solid of a new entry it is. Good movie, go see it, on the biggest screen possible.

I’ve seen the film twice and will be buying it as soon as it is released for home viewing. Simply put; it is phenomenal. For the first time ever, I actually felt dread watching Godzilla as he menaced the humans in this story. The characters are exceptionally well written for this genre and Godzilla feels like a genuine, bonafide monster. Everyone who worked on this film deserves great praise. I’m already looking forward to the second installment of this series.

I will be brief and to the point. I do not own the first copy of the Justice League. I will be owning the collectors edition of the Snyder Cut. This film allows for better character development, better action, and overall, deeper reasons to care for what is happening in the story. As an artist myself, I know what it is like to have a specific vision for a work and to not want that vision compromised. I feel like what Snyder wanted the audience to see, we are getting to see with this movie. It is long, but if you appreciate this sort of thing, it is good.

Rewatched this film recently and then went back to reread some of the reviews of the “professional” critics... I was surprised how clueless many of them were as to what this movie really was about. Many decried the gratuitous violence and all the gore. This film is not perfect. There are moments of historical conjecture and artistic liberty. But the truth is this film also captures the reality of what the Romans and the Jews did to Jesus pretty accurately. I do not say this to be accusatory to the later group, only to say that the scourging and crucifixion portrayed in “The Passion” is pretty much in line with what is recounted in the Gospels. To those who feign outrage over the so called “bloodlust” and what not... this film is depicting a sin sacrifice. Let that sink in. Christ is again and again portrayed in scripture as the final sacrifice for sin. What is portrayed on screen is the absolute wrath of a holy God being poured out on His servant. It isn’t meant to be entertaining or to make one feel good. It is meant to remind people what the cost is for human beings to be brought into right relationship with a God who is absolutely, completely, and utterly beyond the scope of human righteousness truly was. The film was produced from a Christian mindset, it is meant to communicate just what it took to redeem human beings.

This is without exception the best natural disaster film I have ever seen. There are no close seconds. The realism of the disaster being portrayed is outstanding. The actors involved are all very good. Kudos to the director and the production and VFX crew for deciding to use real water and miniature models. The tsunami scenes are flawless, spellbinding, and viscerally brutal. On top of that, the camera work in both tsunami sequences gives the viewer unique and different takes on the catastrophe. Very well done.

What I am about to write pains me, but I will not mince words for this film. I was deeply dissapointed with KOTM. I heard a rumor last year that the film had finished production 6 months ahead of schedule. That was a mistake. The lack of attention to script and the laziness of the writing shows this production was rushed. There is no hiding that. Some of the monster fights were good but again they were shrouded in fog and haze. I give this movie one out of four stars. I really was rooting for this movie and did not want to believe all the negative reviews that had been posted about it. I went in with a great deal of good will and am open mind. It didn't go well.
