The movie is outstanding. But am I the only one who thinks it's inspired from a tamil movie called "Vinnai thaandi varuvaya". Throughout the movie I felt many co-incidences but alas the climax which I felt unique in vinnai thaandi varuvaya was also same in La la Land(I have to mention that similar climax was presented well in La La Land and was really impressive). If it was really inspired from tamil movie then it's a shame it's not been given credit. I'm really surprised to see how none of them (at least to my knowledge) did not find them similar. People always have an inferior image towards smallest movie industry and would think how an internationally appealing movie would copy a movie from small industry but it had happened in the past Horrible bosses 2 had been inspired from Soodhu Kavvum, Taken had been inspired from Mahanadhi. Only Tarantino had the grace to accept that one of the scene in Kill Bill was actually inspired from Alavandhan. Now, people would thrash me black and blue for saying this... I say go ahead and throw it... I would take it that will not be worse than keeping my opinion with-in.

This film is a let down by Tamil audience. This movie is a thesis of chola and a classic example of out of the box thinking... There are lot of detailing in this movie.. Parthiban was very apt as king... This movie ran into many production issues and filmed in a decent budget....It was released after a struggle... This movie should have been celebrated. I was so desperate to help the movie crew and don't what the movie to be failure while it got released... so I started spreading my review to my friends as a word of mouth... I also watched this movie in theatres multiple times... What is the use in celebrating this movie now... Same is the case with Anbe Sivam... Director needs recognition then and there... If you fail then we won't get a quality movies we'd rather get a crappy commercial movies...
