This was a nothing movie. The pace was abrupt, feeling like the actors just stand there until they're out of something to talk about sometimes, and moving on before they did anything other times. Speaking of doing nothing, Kate McKinnon is very funny, but in this film she gets a few one liners that are quirky but never funny. Really that could be said of all four of the main actresses.
The tone of the film is very Scooby Doo, but with adult jokes. It's a very bright film that tries to add a jump scare here and there, but most of the sets came across as a live action cartoon. The villain is often described as creepy, but never does anything too disturbing. Chris Hemsworth is so cartoonishly dumb, you can't believe he would understand how to get to work in the first place. An animated dog solving mysteries would fit right in.
