I'm only halfway through the first episode, but so far it's interesting. I have also seen movies about these communities that are true stories, and one of them was awful because an uncle had been molesting a young woman since she was a child and continued to do so. When she was older and came into the house one night after being sent to the barn for some reason by her father and was disheveled her father asked her what happened and she told him. What did he do? Blamed her for tempting his brother, and beat her! I don't understand the shunning at all, I guess they go by another Bible, but I keep thinking WWJD, what would Jesus do. Our Lord and Savior would not want us to judge and turn our families away! I also thought that when the young people got to a certain age that they were sent on what they called rumspringer and then they chose whether or not to come back and if they came back all was well but if they didn't that's when they were shunned .
