As a longtime horror fan and burgeoning sci-fi & horror screen writer and director, this film was a HUGE inspiration to me. The story was solid. The practical effects were spot on, and the plot has legs. No, it isn't filled with gore and guts, nor is it packed with CG and other digital stuff. It is a great, basic, well written, directed and shot film. It was Malevolent that showed me that a solid horror film can be shot during the day! Well done!
