Disturbing, sickening. I had to put the book down before the first 50 pages. Picked it up again a few years later after I reading all the outstanding reviews. Definitely reads from a male’s perspective even though written in the third person. This is unfortunate because the main character is a teenage girl who suffers violent and sexual abuse from her father. The ending was a disappointing—felt like it was thrown together without much thought like a blockbuster movie that has to be sensationalized in the last 10 minutes. “Teenage girl turns Rambo against automatic rifle toting father who crashes the Homecoming party”. Really? I expected better.
