I have absolutely no idea why this gets so many good reviews. I found it passable at best and my husband doesn’t think any more of it than I do. I think Gary Oldman is an amazing actor, as is Kristin Scott Thomas, but I think both of their performances in this are formulaic and empty. I didn’t care about any of the characters. I think the writing is nothing special. I didn’t find it particularly funny, unique, interesting nor exciting. It looks good visually - it’s a solid and slick production but I just found it lacking anything special. I only saw season 1. Had no interest in seeing any more. I noticed a reviewer comparing it to killing Eve. To me,
killing Eve was 10,000 times better than this in every single way.
