I’m rewatching Moesha and it’s season 2 episode 6. This is a great show but this episode has a lot of problems that they could never get away with today and I’m surprised that they got away with it then! Moesha went out on a date with Hakeem’s cousin and his friend showed up. Moesha thought his friend was gay and assumed the same about him. She told Kim and Neicy and they spread it all over school. Hakeem gets mad because of the rumor, his cousin does too. He said he wasn’t gay. Moesha says to his face that he is because of the friend that they bumped into at the restaurant. Bla bla bla yada yada yada he turns out to be gay. So the problem is that Moesha always thinks she right! Even if he wasn’t gay it’s not right to assume and tell your two friends that will spill beans even if the can wasn’t open! And the fact that everyone thought that being gay was weird and were making cracks about it wasn’t right! He is aloud to love who he wants to love! It’s so wrong and so disrespectful. It angers me so much because of how much hate they get for being different than the standards. I know some of you will be like “Oh it’s just a show calm down!” but this is a real problem.
