Where to begin....I binge watched 5 seasons and it quickly became very cringe worthy with all the wokeness shoved down our throats. The political nonsense was disrespectful to viewers. Sara Gilbert is the ring leader. She was on the View so that tells you all you need to know. She was so incredibly unbelievable as a heterosexual woman with an attractive, masculine man named Ben. That relationship was cringe. Darlene's pants are ALWAYS hanging down below her butt for some reason and she dresses like a boy. In what universe is it believable that she's straight? If the writers can pretend Jerry and Andy never existed, and Dan didn't die, and Harris wasn't born in 1996, they can certainly make Darlene come out of the closet. The show is OBSESSED with relationships with HUGE age gaps, it was GROSS. Becky dating her old professor was cringe. Jackie marrying the vet half her age, total mismatch, Harris with the 40 year old Aldo was just repulsive. Dan with Louise, though I love her as an actress. Why the obsession? They had 13 year old boys making out, 14 year olds getting wasted. They normalized underage drinking with Harris, and EXCESSIVE drinking with the adult characters. The gentle parenting was shake your head cringe. Darlene had NO BACKBONE whatsoever so they had Harris telling her off constantly and Darlene cowering to her and begging for her love. It was pathetic. Harris is a HORRIBLE character. The worst on the show. She was hateful to everyone and incredibly disrespectful, and everyone just accepted it, even praised her for being strong. She even sold Dan's gun because of her beliefs. They're all living in HIS HOUSE for literally decades because of humongous losers they all are, yet they tell him he can't have a gun to protect these idiots. They are also obsessed with mixed race relationships to force inclusion down our throats. It's not realistic that every relationship is black/Hispanic with white or 25 year age difference. Casual sex is no big deal either. They seriously took white trash to a whole other level. The original show was ten times better. It still had dignity. The kids still were respectful. Many things didn't make sense, like how they are so incredibly broke it takes 5 of them to pay a mortgage on a very cheap house they've lived in for 46 years! And then suddenly they can afford to demolish a perfectly good old, yet beautiful Victorian house that would only cost them $500/Mt to build an entirely NEW house in its place. All because the house was "sad". Haha. That's a few hundred thousand dollars even with Dan's free labor and would take him years to complete. And of course, no woke ABC show is complete without the illegal immigrant that doesn't speak English fathering Becky's kid. And Becky marrying him just so he can get his green card. Ben and Louise were the only characters that I liked. It's also fairly obvious that DJ's daughter is NOT half black, so how is it believable that DJ is the father? These characters they brought onto the show were scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's really that bad. Honestly, Sara Gilbert is incredibly homely looking and hard to watch especially knowing these terrible plotlines are her ideas. "Logical and educated people don't believe in God". Yeah, that's not offensive to millions of people. Hypocrites.

Intriguing enough to keep my attention wondering when and how the climax would play out. It was such an odd dynamic that it kept me curious. However, by the end, it was just a bit unbelievable and frustrating. Performances were good, the directing/writing fell short. Why was she able to have these affairs and behave so promiscuously and still be so adored by friends and husband? You really just want him to divorce her and she gets nothing.
