One of the cosiest books I've read. I would have given it 4.25-4.5 stars if the plot of time travel was a little more detailed and some unforeseen twists to summarise the four stories. I still have 4 perhaps 5-star expectations from the other books in the series.
This book in particular revolves around the story of four individuals who either visited the cafe or are working at the cafe. All the stories are different from each other, so don't think they'll be interconnected - that might be the case in the other books from the series. The character-building is pretty good. Often times it is seen that the character is talking to himself about the pros and cons of time travel and whether they should consider it. It has the potential to create an emotional connection with you and some precious moments, especially in the last chapter which I felt really touching. Overall a good book to get out of a reading slump and a quick read. The writing is easy to understand and fast-paced.
This was my first fiction read by a Japanese author, looking forwards to reading more from Japanese authors. Murakami is surely on my TBR.
