Wicked was amazing.the costumes were outstanding. The cinematography also amazing. The story had substance and it connected to the original Wizard of Oz, the flying monkeys still give me nightmares. Ariana Grande was so deft at her acting. She was spot on and timing was flawless. She brought audible laughs from the audience. The singing and music was enthralling. My only criticism was that it was at least 40 minutes too long. It could have been edited down to 2 or two and a half hours and would have lost nothing. If this is part one then save that 40 minutes for part two. People around me were falling asleep. My other issue was that there was a muted picture, maybe all that pink. It felt like Barbie went to Oz. All in all I don’t think I’d want to see it again. It felt like every scene was manipulated and not organic. The voices were outstanding. Cynthia Erivo reached the high bar set for her. Peter Dinklage stole my heart as Dr. Dillamond.

I didn’t know much about Elvis and this movie opened my eyes. The acting was superb. I plan to see it again soon.
