The movie is very well done and it's definitely one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. I think the lower reviews are caused by the fact that this probably is not for a mass audience. It's a psychological drama and it really requires you to think. Probably not what most horror fans expect or want to do on Friday night :-) It did keep me on the edge, though, and the ending was well worth it. Everyone's talking about Kate Hudson and Gena Rowlands but I'd like to highlight the performance of John Hurt in the role of Ben Devereaux which was simply superb, especially taking into account he almost never spoke. These are some excellent acting skills! To sum it up, I highly recommend this movie to people who like thrillers / psychological drama with horror features.
