I never played the video game or followed the novels, but from what I’ve watched on Netflix, the show seems extremely rushed. Although the fight scenes were entertaining, and the main character was badass, I could barely follow the plot. I feel like they could’ve stretched the one season they released into at least four seasons of entertaining content, but instead, they decided to cut it up into hard to understand plot twists and flashbacks. This show had so much potential but lacked the execution required to deem it over two stars. I really hope they took their time while writing and directing the second season that’s due to release in December, or I fear it will be just as disappointing as the first.
