Reposting this review from Doctor Jones because its spot on and adding my own bit at the end:
"This was possibly the most boring film I have ever been made to sit through, and I went to High School in The United States.
It's a movie, so showing the audience something besides one side of a two-way phone conversation for ten minutes straight might have been a good idea, that something NOT being just fading to black for minutes at a time (which also happened). Neat one-take steadycam shots that last a minute don't make up for a complete lack of compelling plot, flat acting and long, laborious scenes that didn't even need to be in the movie. This film has to have been produced by Luxottica, because the glasses were wearing the actors in this one.
Really...don't waste your time."
I think the majority of the films budget was spent on renting the classic cars and wardrobe. The writers sure made it a point to cram in every corny 50s phrase and quip[s that it just came across as campy and forced. The opening scene is just a never ending run on sentence until you get to the most boring 10 minute phone conversation scene. All this effort was put into the design and wardrobe for the film but they couldnt bother to work on the voice acting. Some of the women that are talked to over the phone have the most modern Californian accents, it was too obvious. Whoever thought the fading to black was a good idea - it wasn't. This movie taught me how to avoid making a boring mess of a movie.
