The book has this flow so you could see the characters grow not only individually, but also as a couple. The movie has this very scrabbled timeline that doesn’t really show this change. Tessa and Hardin have this love that is deeply connected, they are complete opposites, yet are the missing pieces to each-other’s whole. The book truly captures the twin flame bond that these two share, the similarities and differences they have, and how no matter if the personality is presented positively or negatively that their love grows for one another. In the movie this representation of a twin flame bond is completely left out, the love is drastically dimmed down to an average college relationship. That wasn’t the original intention of the book.
