Mei Mei Tay

At first I watched to support local film and also my mom wanted to watch so my expectations were very low. Boy was I completely taken by surprise because the movie was very good. Plot wise it's yes, predictable, and acting wise it's not bad but there were also background people (群演) that are clearly not professional actors. The pros are its humour (tailored towards locals) and I especially appreciate the fact that it tackles many forms of online scams as well as investment risks. I like that the movie also doesn't stereotype gangsters anymore :) the end scene of the conversation in the prison cell was a nice touch! No spoilers hehehe

3.5/5 Its a good movie for sure. Feels like a dramatised retelling/documentary. Nowhere even close to the standard of oppenheimer in terms of technique and style, but I think it's worth a watch, especially for people with appreciation for stocks trading and financial markets. I'm here for the crime/investigation parts, which isn't a lot, but I truly did enjoy myself. Fyi, superb acting ^^

Dont watch if u expect to be thrilled by science and space and exciting+complex knowledge. I'm not that knowledgeable but even I was unimpressed. Avengers did a way better job with science vomit hahhaa. Worst part for me of the movie was the Fast and Furious moment (you'll know it when u see it). But overall i was okay with the acting by the main and side casts. I would say its a passable movie but without merits really.
