Never one to read, after facing 6 weeks for surgery recovery, I bought this book in the local bookstore. Really -just to help me kill some of the time of recovery and I did like the thought of sailing.
Once I started reading, I simply could not put it down. Anxiously awaiting her next problem, love, and adventure. I felt like I was there with her and from port, to port this book took me to places I knew I most likely would never go.
Years later, I ran across her email and wrote to her asking,if possible,I could purchase one of her watercolors. It still hangs in my office today with the copy of the book underneath.
After reading this book, I wondered what other books were out there that I might want to read and that has started for me a 20 year reading spree.
Now, it is a book in my hand and an audible in the car. I'm 65 now but have not forgotten what it meant to begin a love affair with the written word. And for that alone... my thanks to Pat Henry.
