It must be nice to be Eddie Murphy. To have the money and power to just wake up one morning and say I want to be Axel Foley again. The first installment of BHC was terrible I won't even bother with the follow ups. I can say that this latest version is as bad as the original. Seeing the original cast back was like returning to the scene of a crime. At this point in his life he's become better at serious drama then comedy themes. Look out for the follow up to The Adventures Of Pluto Nash

This show puts me to sleep. I forced my way through the first season hoping that the plot was building to something. From what I've seen thus far in the second season it hasn't. There's too much pointless dialog that leads to nowhere. The characters themselves are not very interesting or likeable. In between episodes 4 and 5 I watched GOT and binged the entire 8 seasons to remind myself what I'm missing from House Of Dragons

I loved the first season of this show because of its exploration of the darker angulars of human nature. Captain Gabriel Lorca is a brilliant stroke of writing and he's easily the darkest captain in Trek history. We're introduced to Micheal Burnham as a prisoner who's personal story is moving and well written. The show explores taboo issues like rape and racism in a sometimes uncomfortable manner. Season 2 introduced Michelle Yeoh and continued to confront human frailties unapologetically. The show starts going downhill in season 3. When the focus shifts to interpersonal relationships starting with Micheal Burnhams love interest Cleveland Booker. What's worse is the thinly veiled far left liberal sensibilities that are constantly thrown in your face. You can feel writer panic to raise ratings. The fifth season is unwatchable for me. It's like drinking Kool aid with too much sugar in it.

This film doesn't have one original thought or identity of its own. It borrows heavily from Star Wars, The Magnificent seven, Avatar and a few others. Yet it manages to do absolutely nothing with these ideas. It wastes a very good cast with old tired stereotypes, flat dialog and mediocre to bad acting. You get the sense that everyone involved in the production of this garbage (Including Zack Snyder) got a big paycheck from Netflix and ran to the bank.

This movie immediately made it into my top 5 submarine flicks of all time. I haven't seen realism on this scale since Das Boot. The director nails the nuances of modern submarine warfare from a ultra realistic set to camera angles that make you feel like your there. The scene where the boat dives at a 30 degree angle that accurately portrays how the crew must lean backwards to remain standing is classic. No other movie including Crimson Tide or The Hunt For Red October bothered with such detail. The story has holes in it but is somewhat plausible and well done. It's a shame that no one saw this movie as it was a failure at the box office. If you're a submarine geek like me do yourself a favor and check it out

This movie is a massive waste of talent due to historical inaccuracies and bad dialog. Someone needed to tell the director that the story takes place in the 1800's not 2021. If you watched blindfolded you'd swear it was Boyz In The Hood. Former slaves did not use profanity or wear modern hairstyles! The movie is overlaid with reggae music bad costumes and more historical gaffes than I could count.

I wish film studios would stop trying to remake this film. After 3 attempts and 3 failures let's hope someone has learned a lesson. Some books just don't translate well to the big screen (see Stephen King's Dark Tower The Gunslinger) The book will forever remain a science fiction classic that doesn't need a movie to solidify the fact. The story is just too vast and complex to be effectively told by screenplay. Let's hope this is the last movie version

This film was very disappointing. A biopic should reveal new insights and give more depth to the subject, this film fails miserably on both fronts. Jennifer Hudson does an adequate job portraying the legend but she's not given much to work with. The films characters are all tired cliches' we've become all to familiar with from Forrest Whittakers overbearing father to Marlon Wayans abusive and jealous husband routine. When opportunities do arise for an in depth character study the film ignores them and chickens out. Aretha Franklin had children at ages 12 and 14 but this is not addressed in the film for some reason. They make a vague reference to her possibly being molested then the film jumps to her being grown and never explains where the children came from.
