I don't have a problem with the adult themes but the movie was almost like the producers were on a deadline. They had a great idea but ran out of time so threw something together and prayed it made sense. I didn't feel connected to any characters except the mother who got sick and barely in it. The movie was trying to be Toy Story, Inside Out, and Up all in one but it didn't work at all. So many questions unanswered! The animals, the dad, the zombie monkey things, the Aunt and uncle, the friend who puked, the math camp, the magic forest, the ear whispering- it was all disconnected and not exciting. My kids were bored and my husband fell asleep.
