Unfortunately, it is a victim of its own hype.
I was really hoping this film was going to be really good, it had a good build up, and put in lots of little nudges to the original that were subtle, but obvious to those who know the original well, as time went on, I started to wonder how they were going to get the same level horror within the time.
It spent a lot of time introducing lots of characters, but seemed like it was either told to cut down, or they just didn't think it through. Scenes and links seems to have just disappeared.
By the time they had got through this, they really didn't have the time to build up the bigger scenes, that I was expecting at least.
Hope these make sense in the coming films, but as for it being a good film, it wasn't. The Beavertown advert before the film, was stranger and darker than the actual film.
Let's hope it makes more sense and gives a few more scares in the coming films.
